The Quasem business house has been around in the Bangladeshi economy since 1950 when it was first established as a trading house. Over the years the Quasem name has been a major force in the field of jute, leather, textiles, cotton, silk. Later in the 1980’s, they diversified their business into the battery sector followed by lighters in the 90’s and food products in the following decades. Over the last 70 years, Quasem has built a strong reputation among shareholders, consumers and the business community as a trusted business house with high quality manufacturing standards and fair and honest management.

Today, Quasem is involved in a number of business sectors including the manufacturing of drycell batteries, food products, gas lighters, metal cans and various home and lifestyle products. Additionally Quasem runs one of the largest nationwide distribution systems which reaches even the most remote parts of Bangladesh. The company is also the primary donor to the Quasem Foundation, an NGO operating in Northern Bangladesh providing free or heavily subsidized eye care and maternal care to underprivileged people in some of the poorest parts of the country.
